Brewing Coffee with a Cafetiere

As part of Continental Coffee Month, today we’re looking at how to brew coffee with a cafetiere.

Using a cafetiere is one of the simplest ways to brew coffee. It really brings out the flavours, since the water is in constant contact with the coffee grains. This is in contrast to a drip filter which traps many of the essential oils. Since the coffee continues to brew after the press has been pushed down, the coffee will grow bitter and will last only about twenty minutes, so serve and drink immediately.

Below is an excellent video explaining the process:

How to Froth Milk without Steam

Last week we posted a video about how to froth milk with steam. We then realised that many of our readers may not have the equipment needed. You can actually froth milk using a cafetiere and a microwave, making it incredibly easy to make cappuccinos and lattes at home. You can also easily create espresso using our new Oh Espresso Machine. The video below shows the very simple process:

We are currently running an offer on the Introductory Selection Packs, where you receive a free Bodum Cafetiere, so here is a special feature post on brewing coffee with it.
