Our new ranges carry the FAIRTRADE Mark this guarantees that our products meet international Fair Trade standards and growers receive a fair price for their coffee.

On top of the fair price, we pay the Fair Trade Premium which allows the farmers to invest in social, medical, educational and environmental projects in their communities.

The principles of Fair Trade & How Fair Trade helps the growers?

Fairtrade Coffee

Interestingly over half of the world’s coffee is grown on small family farms with only a few acres of coffee trees.

The Fair Trade certification allows for these farmers to join together and form cooperatives which in turn give them direct access to coffee importers.

  • Long-term contracts and the forging of long term partnerships with key importers
  • Minimum guaranteed prices avoiding uncertainties due to the fluctuation of worldwide prices
  • Pre-financing of harvests and a short sales chain which cuts out the middleman.

This helps improve farmers’ economic stability and allows the cooperatives to invest in healthcare, education and housing improvements directly benefiting the farmers and their families.

The Rombouts group supports these principles and works closely with many cooperatives across Africa, Asia, Central and South America click on the links below to see more information on some of these cooperatives.
