At Rombouts we passionately believe in Fair Trade coffee and each year Rombouts increases its commitment to Fair Trade.
Our new ranges carry the FAIRTRADE Mark this guarantees that our products meet international Fair Trade standards and growers receive a fair price for their coffee.
On top of the fair price, we pay the Fair Trade Premium which allows the farmers to invest in social, medical, educational and environmental projects in their communities.
Interestingly over half of the world’s coffee is grown on small family farms with only a few acres of coffee trees.
The Fair Trade certification allows for these farmers to join together and form cooperatives which in turn give them direct access to coffee importers.
This helps improve farmers’ economic stability and allows the cooperatives to invest in healthcare, education and housing improvements directly benefiting the farmers and their families.
The Rombouts group supports these principles and works closely with many cooperatives across Africa, Asia, Central and South America click on the links below to see more information on some of these cooperatives.
