Mocha Coffee

Espresso with chocolate, topped with steamed frothed milk and a sprinkling of chocolate.

THE PERFECT HOME MADE MOCHA


Method

  • Make a single Espresso using a machine or a Stove Pot
  • Put two teaspoons of your favourite chocolate powder into your cup or glass then blend the espresso with the chocolate powder until a smooth paste is formed.
  • Mean while heat the milk
  • Put the hot milk in your milk frother and lightly froth the milk. Use a Bodum Latteo Milk Frother available from our on line shop or alternatively place the milk in a large cafetiere and pump the plunger approximately 5 times.
  • Add the lightly foamed milk to your Espresso – Chocolate mix
  • Decorate with a dusting of cocoa powder and serve immediately
  • The best Mocha should be one third Espresso chocolate mix, two thirds milk. You'll find the more you make them, the better they'll become.

Cook Tips

*At Rombouts we recommend using full fat milk for the ultimate indulgence it simply tastes better and gives a richer and creamier texture however for the health conscious you can use skimmed or even semi skimmed milk. Skimmed mild actually holds the froth for longer because of the lower fat content.

  • 5 Fl oz (0.15l) full fat, skimmed or semi skimmed milk*
  • 2 teaspoons of your favourite chocolate powder
  • Cocoa powder for decoration
